Middle School | 5th - 8th Grade

At Pilgrim, we focus on the individual child, meeting them where they are, fostering their talents and supporting their educational growth areas, while fulfilling our mission to develop the whole child--body, mind, and spirit.  Our students explore the arts through music classes, choir, hand chimes and handbells, dramatic plays, reader’s theater, musical theater, and visual arts.  They build their physical growth through physical education as well as competitive sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track and field).

Our focus on the individual child and how they each learn, results in active learning opportunities that prepare students for the future.  They learn by asking questions and through projects that require them to plan and problem-solve. Students engage with the curriculum, developing critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills while being challenged to be creative in their solutions.

MAP Testing

MAP testing provides invaluable insights into our students' educational journey at Pilgrim. It helps us understand each child's strengths and areas needing improvement, allowing us to tailor their learning experiences more precisely. By tracking their growth over time, we ensure personalized support, enabling every student to reach their full potential. This data-driven approach empowers our teachers and parents alike, fostering a collaborative environment focused on individualized academic success for each child.

Athletics

Our sports scene is buzzing with action! We've got teams for basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track & field where students dive into the thrill of competition. Our coaches bring out the best in our athletes, emphasizing teamwork and skill-building while having a blast. It's not just about winning games; it's about learning resilience, sportsmanship, and the joy of giving it your all, whether on the court, field, or track.

Enrichment Opportunities

In middle school at Pilgrim, our students have an assortment of enrichment activities to engage their diverse interests. From the  melodies of our choir and the captivating performances in our drama club to the creative expressions found in our Art & Design Lab, students explore their artistic passions. Our STREAM programs fuse science, technology, religion, engineering, arts, and mathematics, while our handbell and handchime groups create beautiful harmonies. Participation in Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament (L.E.S.T.) and Lutheran Battle of the Books cultivates teamwork and knowledge. For strategic minds, our Chess Club offers challenges, and Art After School sessions encourage further artistic exploration and skill development.
